We accept Visa & Mastercard, Bank deposits straight into our nominated Business account and Paypal.

Using Paypal, you are able to use your Visa, Mastercard or American Express Credit Card while knowing your personal details are safe and secure.

Please note: If you use Direct Deposit then your purchase will not be shipped until your payment clears into our bank account.

What is Paypal?

How do I use my credit card safely?

You can use PayPal which use an encrypted page to checkout or you can use the Credit Card feature on our website which is done through the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and is also very secure.

 

What if my credit card is not working?

You may contact us to find a suitable alternative for payment or contact your bank to check the status of your account.

Please note: We do not accept American Express Credit Cards on the Credit Card function on our check out page. You need to pay using Paypal which accepts Amex.

 

Is a confirmation of my purchase sent through?

You will receive a confirmation of your order and an estimated shipping delivery time upon order. Please check your Junk Folder if you don’t receive it in your normal email folder.

What is a TSA lock?

TSA locks are required for all customers travelling to the USA and parts of Europe. The TSA (Transportation Security Administration) screens every passenger’s baggage before it is placed on the plane. At their discretion they can choose to open a passenger’s luggage for closer inspection. When this occurs, if the luggage is fitted with any lock other than those approved by the TSA, they will destroy whatever lock is fitted to gain access.

Luggage locks approved by the TSA have a universal master key that will open the locks. Only the TSA have a copy of this master key. Every TSA approved lock has an identifying mark that shows it may be opened by the master key. Most of the cases Modern Bags stock have TSA locks. Some have fixed & non-fixed combination locks. Please check the product description on each case to see what lock it comes with.

 

How do I clean my bag?

General wear and tear is to be expected especially if you travel frequently however you may use a cloth with warm water to remove any stains/flight sticker residue that may occur during travel.

 

What size case can I take on the aircraft?

Most of our cabin luggage is 100% legal size, and approved to take with you and stow on the plane. Please check the description on the product if you are unsure.

 

What is the largest size bag I can check in?

In most cases when checking in your luggage there will only be a specific weight allowance, this can vary from 23-30kg on an economy flight.

Our largest suitcases are all approved for checking in when travelling with any airline.

 

How many pieces of luggage can I take with me? 

Dependent on which airline you fly with you may be able to split your weight allowance into two bags. It is a good idea to check with your airline before you fly.

 

Can I order luggage in bulk quantities?

You may order as much or as little as you like, we can work out a freight cost that is suitable to your order while making your purchase an affordable one.

Our warehouse and offices are located in Melbourne, Victoria.

 

What are charges for each city in Australia?

Modern Bags offer free express shipping within Australia for all orders over $80.00. For all orders under $80.00 there is a $10 delivery fee no matter where you live in Australia.

 

International Shipping?

Unfortunately we do not sell to customers outside of Australia & we do not ship to them either. If you are in New Zealand please check out www.modernbags.co.nz.

 

How do I track my shipping?

You can contact us via phone or email for your tracking number or we can track your order for you.

 

Change Shipping Address?

Once your order has been processed then unfortunately you cannot change your shipping address. It will be your responsibility to collect your item or pay re-delivery charges. Please make sure to take the time when entering your delivery details on the order screen.

 

Do I need to be at home to accept my order?

No, most of our deliveries will require a signature unless you state that our couriers can leave your parcel hidden at your front door or at another safe location on your property. You may choose to get your parcel delivered to work, which might be easier/safer.

 

Can I pick up my case? 

Sure, you can collect your case from our Store on Chapel Street, South Yarra, Melbourne.

 

Returns/Repairs

At Modern Bags you have 30 days to return your product(s) to us if you wish. Please see all the relevant information below:

 

How long do I have to return my purchase?

As long as your purchase(s) has not been used and is in original condition with all tags then you have 100 days to return your product to us. It is your responsibility to get the product back to us which means you have to pay for postage if you cannot make it into our store / warehouse to drop it off.

 

How long will my refund take to be processed?

We will process your refund within 1 business day of receiving the return at our warehouse. Please remember, your financial institution can take a little longer to clear funds into your account. Please note – you will be refunded the same way you paid. i.e. Credit Card means it will be returned to your Credit Card.

 

Will I have to pay to return my purchase?

You will need to cover postage and handling to get your purchase(s) back to us. Either Port Melbourne or Chapel Street, South Yarra, Melbourne, VIC.

 

Return shipping charges?

The return shipping charges are your responsibility. If the product is faulty in any way then we will pay to have your product returned and exchanged.

 

What if my purchase is faulty?

We aim to provide our customers with products of the highest standard and quality. If you have received an item with a defect, please contact our Customer Service team, so they can guide you through the returns process and help resolve the problem as quickly as possible. Please note that we’ll need a photo or two showing the defect/fault, which will speed up the returns process for you.

 

What if I change my mind about the colour or size of the case?

You are most welcome to return the case to us in its original box at your cost and you can choose an alternative colour or style case. Please note that the product must be unused with original packaging and swing-tags. You are not entitled to a refund however we are happy to swap it for something else or issue a store credit.

 

Warranty

How many years warranty does my luggage have?    

All of our products have varying warranties of between 1-10 years. These are shown in the description of each product on our website.

 

What does my warranty cover?

The warranty that comes with your new purchase gives you peace of mind that in the event of a problem you will be covered.

At Modern Bags your warranty covers manufacturing and workmanship defects. We will repair or replace your case for you depending on damage.

Please note: Airline / Carrier Damage is not covered under warranty. Should your luggage be taken off the Airline Carousel, and have any damage (missing wheels, torn material, broken handle or any other damage that was not done PRIOR to the case being put onto the airline/carrier) this WILL NOT be covered under the manufacturers warranty. This is AIRLINE/CARRIER DAMAGE and needs to be taken to the Airline Customer Service desk before you leave the terminal and customs area. It is up to the Airline or Carrier to remedy the damage.

It pays to check the case as you remove it from the Carousel so any damage is reported to the airline before you leave the terminal. Once you have left the terminal you will not be able to claim against the case with the airline.

  

What if an airline damages my luggage?

Do I need to complete a product registration for my warranty to be valid?

If you choose to enter your details into our database we may find it easier to find your case should you need to use your warranty however your proof of purchase would be sufficient.
